Asahi Kasei Plastics is pleased to have Tenac-C^TM Z4520, one of our advanced engineered resins, nominated in the Environmental category with the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE).  Tenac- C^TM Z4520, a low-emission acetal copolymer resin, is featured in the advanced lumbar support mat manufactured by Brose Group found in the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

What makes Z4520 unique is that it has exceeded even the most stringent of global OEM standards for volatile organic compound emissions without the need for any traditional grease or lubricants in the lumbar module.

The use of Tenac-C^TM Z4520 has also enabled Brose Group to help reduce vehicle weight to the tune of 400 grams per lumbar support mechanism.

The lumbar support mat in the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of several SPE product nominations featuring advanced polymers developed by Asahi Kasei Plastics.
